Why choose organic

All use of GMOs is prohibited in organic farming 


Genetic engineering is a technique for transferring hereditary properties from one species to another. The biological and hereditary consequences are unknown and irreversible as they will be inherited from generation to generation. The health consequences have not been studied in depth. The consequences may be serious if genetically engineered plants spread in the wild. However, sick animals may be given medicine that is produced by genetic engineering as it is often the only medicine available.


Scientists recommend pregnant women to eat organic 


Researchers from the University of Southern Denmark advise pregnant women to eat organic as remnants of insect pesticides in non-organic can harm the unborn child.                   

An increased risk of developing ADHD, poorer motor skills and a risk of having the IQ reduced by 3-5 points in intelligence measurements may be the consequence of mothers and children being exposed to insect poisons such as chlorpyrifos in their daily diet every day. Researchers have actively warned about the negative consequences of chlorpyrifos and the other use of pesticides that end up in our foods and by 2019 Denmark decided that e.g. fruit and vegetables may no longer contain chlorpyrifos and chlorpyrifos-methyl.


Organic tastes better

It is not only organic fruits and vegetables that taste more, organic cows produce more flavored milk. The more varied food a cow gets, the more nuances there will be in the taste of the milk. The content of free fatty acids is significantly lower in organic milk than in conventional milk. This means that organic milk has less risk of developing pungent taste or odor.
 The difference is probably related to the fact that the cows  from organic farms get more grass and get less saturated fat in the feed than cows from conventional farms. 


Organic milk has the best fat 


On average the content of the important omega-3 is 62% higher in organic milk compared to non-organic milk following a study done by researchers from Washington State University in the United States.


Organic cows live longer 


A study from Aarhus University in Denmark documents that cows grazing in the summer are less likely to die than cows who live inside a barn all year around. More accurately, the study shows that when the cows get pasture, their mortality rate is at least 25 percent lower than if they never get out of the barn. If the cows are milked with automatic milking system (milking robots), the mortality rate is 54 percent lower than in non-grazing cows.


Organic for the nerdy ones

The word ecology originates from Greek and means loosely translated "the doctrine of the household of nature". It is a fundamental goal in the doctrine to keep track on nutrients and to avoid nutrients loss as much as possible. The aim is to create a sustainable holistic agricultural food production, where special consideration is given to the environment, nature and animal welfare.

Central to ecological thinking is that we take a precautionary approach to the things we do. This is done from the idea that nature is complex, and it can be difficult to see the consequences of the ways in which we humans affect the environment. Therefore, for example, the use of genetically modified plants and organisms (GMOs) is not allowed in organic farming. Our focus is on making the most gentle processing possible with the use of as few additives as possible.
